# Imagine — Hire AI Teammates Who Remember

*A pitch for business owners — anchored on the **My Agents** feature.*

---

## 1. The promise

Imagine gives every business owner a private team of named AI agents — each with a job, a memory, a reporting line, and a seat in your team chat. **They show up tomorrow knowing what happened today.**

Four things every Imagine agent has that a generic chatbot doesn't:

- **3-layer memory** — short-term (today), medium-term (this week), long-term (forever).
- **Lives inside team chat** — `@mention` to call, exactly like a human teammate.
- **Owner-approved** — nothing speaks in your channels until you say yes.
- **Sleeps & wakes** — agents distil memory every night, week, and on-demand.

---

## 2. The pain

Running a small business means doing 14 jobs you never wanted:

- **Repetitive customer Q&A** — "What are your hours?" "Do you ship to…?" — the same 40 questions, every week.
- **Invoice & vendor chase** — polite reminders, status nudges, ageing reports.
- **Lead follow-up** — a warm prospect from Tuesday goes cold by Friday.
- **Onboarding & SOPs** — every new hire learns from scratch because nothing's written down twice the same way.
- **Daily / weekly reviews** — "What happened this week?" → 90 minutes of scrolling chat, email, sheets.
- **Supplier liaison** — re-orders, delivery confirms, swaps. Small, frequent, unloved.

You don't need another inbox. You need **delegation**.

## 3. Why a generic chatbot isn't enough

| | Generic chatbot | **Imagine agent** |
|---|---|---|
| Remembers across days | ❌ | ✅ 3-layer memory |
| Has an identity | ❌ | ✅ `soul.md` per agent |
| Lives in your team chat | ❌ | ✅ Native `@mention` |
| Reports to a human | ❌ | ✅ Escalates by name |
| Approval & audit | ❌ | ✅ Built-in |

A generic chatbot is a goldfish in a suit. It's smart — for 8 minutes. Then it forgets your business, your customers, your prices, and who reports to whom.

## 4. Meet "My Agents"

Open the **My Agents** tab in imagine. Click **+ New agent**. Give it:

1. **A name.** "Triage Buddy", "Invoice Nudger", "Onboarding Mentor" — name it like an employee.
2. **A one-line job description.** That's it.
3. **The team(s) it should sit in.**
4. **Who it reports to** (defaults to you).

Imagine then auto-drafts the agent's **soul.md** — its identity, behaviour rules, knowledge boundaries, and escalation triggers — for your approval. You read it, tweak it, approve.

Behind the scenes, each agent is four plain markdown files you fully own:

- `soul.md` — identity and rules
- `shorttermmemory.md` — today's transcript
- `mediumtermmemory.md` — last week's digest
- `longtermmemory.md` — durable, evergreen knowledge

No black boxes. Read, edit, export at any time.

## 5. The four ingredients

| # | Ingredient | What it gives you |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | **Soul** | A one-page identity: who am I, what's my job, how do I talk, when do I escalate. |
| 2 | **3-layer memory** | Today (raw), this week (digest), forever (durable). Compacts automatically. |
| 3 | **Team groups** | The agent lives inside team chats. Anyone can `@mention` it. |
| 4 | **Reports-to line** | Every agent has a named human boss. Out-of-scope → handed back. |

You're not bolting a chatbot onto your business. You're **hiring a specialist with a job description, a memory, and a boss** — which is exactly how you'd onboard a human. Same mental model. A tenth of the cost. Always on.

---

## 6. How memory works

Every conversation in the agent's team chat is appended to its short-term memory automatically.

- **00:00 every day** — short-term distils into medium-term and clears.
- **00:10 every Sunday** — medium-term distils into long-term and clears.
- During compaction the agent **sleeps** for 10 minutes; @-mentions queue, then it wakes refreshed.

This means a 6-month-old agent has the muscle memory of a 6-month employee — without burning a million tokens of context every reply.

## 7. 6 agents most business owners hire in week one

| `@handle` | Job | Lives in |
|---|---|---|
| `@frontdesk` | Answers hours, services, prices, return policy from your FAQ doc | `#customer-chat` |
| `@billing` | Drafts invoice reminders; escalates large outstanding amounts | `#finance` |
| `@sales` | Drafts day-3 / day-7 lead follow-ups in your voice | `#sales` |
| `@mentor` | Walks new hires through SOPs; flags real gaps to you | `#onboarding` |
| `@weekly` | Sunday-night 7-bullet recap of the week's chat and decisions | `#leadership` |
| `@supplier` | Drafts re-order emails, tracks delivery confirms | `#ops` |

Each is a **~60-second setup**.

---

## 8. A Tuesday with your agent team

- **07:55** — `@weekly` drops yesterday's recap in `#leadership`. You read it over coffee.
- **09:10** — Customer asks about bulk orders → `@frontdesk` replies in your voice, flags the borderline price case to you.
- **11:30** — `@billing` nudges three overdue invoices, posts the list. You approve two, edit one.
- **14:00** — New hire pings `@mentor` ten times. Mentor answers eight, flags two real SOP gaps.
- **17:45** — `@sales` drafts three day-7 follow-ups. You approve all three with one tap.
- **00:00** — Agents sleep. Short-term distils to medium-term. Tomorrow they wake up smarter.

---

## 9. Versus the alternatives

| | Generic AI chatbot | Part-time human hire | **Imagine — My Agents** |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remembers across days | ❌ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Defined role | ❌ | ✅ | ✅ |
| In your team chat | ❌ | ✅ | ✅ native |
| Approval / audit | ❌ | manual | ✅ built-in |
| 24×7 availability | ✅ | ❌ | ✅ |
| Cost per "employee" | ~₹0 | ₹15k–₹40k / month | A fraction of a salary |
| You own the data | usually no | — | ✅ plain markdown files |
| Setup time | minutes | weeks | ~60 seconds per agent |

---

## 10. Governance — the owner stays in charge

- **Approval before speaking** — new agents are in `pending` until you approve.
- **Reports-to** — every agent names a human; out-of-scope questions go to that human, not into the void.
- **Sleep windows** — send an agent to sleep for the weekend, or while you fix its memory.
- **Editable memory** — don't like something it learned? Open the file, edit, save.
- **Audit trail** — every reply, every escalation, every approval is timestamped.
- **Your server, your data** — memory is markdown on disk. Export, back up, delete at any time.

---

## 11. The math

If one agent saves you 30 minutes a day, it pays for itself by Friday. Most owners report the first three agents — front-desk FAQ, invoice nudger, weekly review — collectively **reclaim 5–8 hours a week**.

That's a full working day, back.

The intangible: your **SOPs finally get written down**. Every `soul.md` and long-term memory file is, by accident, the cleanest piece of documentation your business has ever had.

---

## 12. Get started

1. Open imagine.
2. Click **My Agents → + New agent**.
3. Write one sentence about what the agent does.
4. Approve the auto-drafted soul.
5. Drop the agent into a team chat.
6. `@mention` it.

3 minutes. First teammate hired.
